“I think I’m gonna throw up…”
That’s what was going through my mind as I walked onto the court for my first game of Indoor Netball since primary school. I was nervous as all heck and thought for sure I was going to throw up, trip over and break my arm, cop an elbow to the face, drop the ball, or worse, shoot a goal for the other team!
But I didn’t throw up. I did throw the ball to the other team though. And then I went offside, threw the ball the wrong way, struggled to keep up with my opposing player and then couldn’t walk for two days after. But it was ok because most of us all started out the same way – returning to fitness after having kids, and a long break between games. I have honestly never enjoyed sport so much! It was fun with lots of laughter and thankfully nobody is there thinking it’s the ANZ Championship…. well maybe one or two think that 😉
