As some of you would know from my other Townsville Women articles, I am a current IVF patient. Due to the stress that comes with IVF, I was in search of a creative outlet that would require so much of my concentration and creativity that I would be forced to push that other not so nice stuff out of my brain – even if just for an hour or two.
I have always loved photography so decided to invest in a Nikon D3400 and complete the Fall In Love With Photography workshop through Townsville Photography School. Since then, I am always seeking opportunities to continue to develop my photography.
Today’s opportunity to practice my photography was to complete the Street Art Walking Trail that I discovered on the Townsville City Council website which is mapped out perfectly on the PDF map you can download. Armed with a delicious flat white from Swagger & Jaxx, we parked on Melton Terrace before starting the trail at Denham Lane. From there we followed the map down Ogden Street, Hanran Street, Flinders Street, up through City Lane, up Sturt Street and finishing back where we parked at Melton Terrace – all up taking 1-1.5 hours.
We saw a mixture of animals, famous faces, landscapes and abstract art – all full of amazing details and an array of wonderful colours.
It was a wonderful way to discover our city however would encourage people to dress sun smart and take water to avoid sunburn and/or dehydration in our hot and humid North Queensland climate!
